several outstanding
individuals at the 2008
NTRCA Awards Banquet.
 Bruce
Johnson with Johnson
Sales was
recognized as the
Associate of the Year.
This award goes to a
NTRCA associate member
who has contributed
significantly to the
association, the local
roofing industry and has
given exceptional
service to his clients.
Bob Edwards, with HEC
Roofing/Hipwell Sheet
Metal was
honored as the Industry
Leader in Commercial
Roofing.
Lon Smith, with Lon
Smith Roofing
was honored
posthumously as the
Industry Leader in
Residential Roofing.
 The
Industry Leader goes to
NTRCA members who made
significant
contributions to the
association and the
local roofing industry.
NTRCA also recognized
outstanding roofing
projects with their
Golden Hammer Awards.
Commercial contractors
winning the Golden
Hammer Award were:
Castro Roofing of Texas
for the work done on
Rusk State Hospital,
KPost Company
for
the UTD Natural Science
and Engineering Research
Building and
Texas
Roof Management
for
the work done on The
Mosiac and the Gables
Uptown Tower.
Residential
contractors winning the
Golden Hammer Award were
Joe Hall Roofing
for the Vandergriff
Project,
Metroplex Roofing
Contractors
for the Anderson
Project, and
Pitts Roofing
Company, Inc.
for the Feris Project.
Bert Roofing,
HEC Roofing
and
Pitts Roofing Company,
Inc. were
honored as the recipient
of
 the
Golden Hammer Award for
Outstanding Community
Service. These
contractors worked with
the NFL Players
Association to install
an Owens Corning roof
system on a new home the
NFL Players Association
built in south Dallas.
 There
was much fun had by all.
NTRCA recognized
everyone and then set
about raising almost
$45,000 for the new roof
for The Women's Center
of Tarrant County.
Then the gambling and
dancing began!
